The Animated Series' Creator Has Seen Your Second Season Bingo Cards — With Some Positive Updates

The much-anticipated second season of the musical adult cartoon Hazbin Hotel debuts on the streaming platform this week, and fan speculation has been intense.

The first season introduces a diverse group of characters residing in Hell and Heaven, sets them at odds with musical numbers about their clashes, and builds tense rivalries and emotional bonds that fuel audience devotion.

The fandom's stated hopes for the new season vary widely, but certain themes emerge over and over: Could a fan-favorite character escape his tormentor? Will we find out more about the mysterious "deal" constraining Alastor the Radio Demon? Will [favorite character] and [other character] finally get together?

"Obviously, I don't produce the show with fan service specifically in mind," the showrunner commented earlier this year. "But I believe that me being a fan of my own show implies there's a lot of it just naturally. I also want to see these things, and I hope some of these things to happen, and clearly some of these things are meant to happen in the show!"

She says her long-term vision is for five seasons of Hazbin Hotel. Future installments have received approval by Prime Video and A24, which produce the series.

That might mean fans have to wait years for some of the major resolutions — but they may be surprised at how quickly the new season moves, and how many of what they're anticipating happens now.

"I feel like people are going to get a lot out of it," the creator notes. "We get some firsts. I think we get some incredible disclosures, some fascinating origin tales, and even basic elements, [like] I hope this character gets a song. […] Audiences will experience much more singing from the previously silent cast members."

She's certainly aware of the theories and desires about the upcoming season — especially in the format of audience prediction charts.

"I've come across a few fans create a bingo card about the new season," she mentions. "Obviously I can't post it, but I've actually done a few items, and nearly every one of them have almost a bingo. I thought, Oh, if you put this [event] in this spot, it would be a bingo. So that makes me think we do a lot [of what fans are waiting for in this season], because I was like, Oh, there's multiple potential bingos on this card. So that makes me happy."

Hazbin Hotel season 2 launches on Prime Video on October 29.
